Feng shui is an ancient art that uses the principles of yin and yang to guide the flow of chi. Chi is energy and is the life force that is present in all life and objects. A balanced bedroom can improve one's love life, wealth and career.

The square at the bottom of the page represents the way a room is divided. The enterance door should be on the bottom line of the square.

When choosing the placement of your bed, in order for it to fully benefit all aspects of your life, the headboard should have a solid wall behind. There should be equal space on both sides of your bed. Also, nothing should be stored underneath the bed because it blocks the flow of energy. Perhaps the most important thing to remember when placing your bed is to not have it so your feet would be facing the door; this is known as the death position.

If you want to hang mirrors, the should be round or oval and hung in the relationship corner or the career wall. Never have a mirror facing a bad as it will reflect depression and other negative emotions. Pictures shold also be used sparingly and placed on the family wall, relationship corner, or helpful people corner.

Chi tends to travel between the door and any windows in the room so, if possible place the bed so the chi will have to pass it.
When going to bed, all doors should be closed in order to keep the chi in the room so it can recharge your inner energy.

General feng shui tips for the bedroom include avoiding electronics. The bedroom is supposed to be a place for sleeping and making love. This ancient art of the chinese designates that each room has a certain purpose so the electronics should be in general living areas. If you are not willing to remove the television of computer, putting it behind the door of vanity or other blocking device will do the trick.

Large plants should be avoided but small plants are encouraged if placed on the fame wall.

The top left corner of your room represents wealth. If this is an area of your life in which you feel you need a boost, items such as money or jewelry should be kept in this area. The colors that represent this corner are red, purple and gold.
