All brand new artwork by Amy Silletto's is now on display at the Third Street Gallery. The exhibition, entitled "Wants and Needs," opened on Saturday and an artist's reception was held.

The work on display is a modge podge of mediums. Silletto uses bright colors, collage, paint, and prints to create her artwork. Credit cards, cut outs and other things of this nature are plastered onto canvases to create a layered image with lots of intricate details. Also, rather than simply using images to convey a message she uses bold, straightforward words on almost all of the work.

These images explore common wants and needs in society, and generally criticize and satirize them. Themes like shelter cover the needs, but other themes, less "needed" ones, are beauty and entertainment. Instead of simply showing clothing as a need the artist shows designer, brand name images.
The Third Street Gallery's goal is to show local and area artists and changes the exhibit about once a month.

The exhibition is curated by Rebecca Sefcovic Uglem and Amy Lyste, co-directors of the Third Street Gallery
