In the November 2008 elections, 53.94 percent of North Dakotans voted "Yes" on Measure 3, also known as the Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Program Initiative.
Kathleen Mangskau is chairwoman of the advisory committee established by the measure. She said, "The voters passed an initiated measure that would provide funding for a comprehensive CDC (Center for Disease Control) based tobacco control and prevention in North Dakota.

However, the closure of a business threatened to end the tradition of the pre-finals Springfest celebration. The sponsor for the previous two years, Suite 49, closed its doors earlier this year, leaving university students wondering if they would have to find their own way to celebrate the weekend before finals.
After a 7 hour meeting, questions remain on where the Cab Crawler program stands
t was a war of words at Sunday's Student Senate meeting as the contentious debate surrounding the significantly over budget Cab Crawler program took center stage. The more than six-hour-long meeting, which lasted until 12:46 a.m., saw senators and President Tyrone Grandstrand, along with Treasurer Sterling Wiggins pitted against each other after allegations of mismanagement an unethical behavior were raised on numerous occasions.

Darfur camps were already ripe with horrid conditions, including disease and malnutrition plaguing the population.

The University of North Dakota will soon be selling its Cessna Mustang in favor of a Beechcraft King Air. The plane was originally purchased with a donation from James Ray, one of UND's most generous donors. Both of the planes were intended to provide air transportation for university officials.
